Original acrylic on canvas, signed by the artist on the front, signed and dated 1979 by the artist on the back.  Front signature-"Copper Thunderbird" is in Cree syllabics. When unframed and rolled, this painting was  appraised at $4500.00. This appraisal, on gallery letterhead and to be included with the painting, was furnished by a long time seller and leading Canadian authority on Morrisseau's work.

With the recent passing of Morrisseau and given that the painting has now been professionally cleaned, stretched and framed, a new appraisal would likely be substantially higher.

 Bright and vibrant colours, an excellent early piece, ready to hang.
